Don't Believe The Naysayers, Believe in Youself | JDMessinger



Everything great I ever did, an army said I couldn't do it. That's right. I was told by my guidance counselor I could never get into the Naval Academy. He was incorrect. I was one of 37 Distinguished Graduates in a class of 966. It's called determination.

Admiral Rickover told me I wasn't good enough to be in his nuclear power program. I told him he was wrong, and that I would be one of the best submarine officers he ever had. He threw me out of the office, but took me because I didn't crack under pressure. It's called courage.
